KOCEI Signs MoU with the Korean Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education |

= Agreement expected to raise democratic consciousness through capacity building education for talented women based on gender equality =
The Korean Civic Education Institute for Democracy (KOCEI) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Korean Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education (KIGEPE) on October 12 in order to spread awareness of gender equality and the prevention of violence.
At the ceremony held at the KIGEPE main office, KOCEI President Kim Jin-bae and KIGEPE President Min Moo-suk were among the participants and they agreed to closely work together in the research and development of civic education for democracy and gender equality education.
KOCEI announced that this MoU provides an opportunity for civic education for democracy to be conducted more effectively, and bears fruits in establishing a base for women’s equality and running programs to strengthen the capacity of talented women in order to increase women’s participation in politics. Meanwhile, KOCEI is continuing to push ahead with signing agreements with various other organizations and working together to provide diverse civic education for democracy, as a specialized organization in civic education for democracy that targets party officials involved in elections, regular voters and future voters alike.
