Cho Hai-ju Inaugurated as Standing Commissioner of the NEC |

The National Election Commission (NEC) of the Republic of Korea opened a full meeting of the commission and appointed Cho Hai-ju as Standing Commissioner.
Standing Commissioner Cho Hai-ju has served as a public official in the field of elections for 30 years. He has held a number of senior positions at the NEC including the President of the Korean Civic Education Institute for Democracy (KOCEI), Chief Planning and Coordination Officer, Chief Election Officer and the Standing Commissioner of the Gyeonggi-do Election Commission.
The NEC is composed of a total of nine members made up of three members appointed by the President, three members appointed by the National Assembly, and three members appointed by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

• Cho Hai-ju, the Standing Commissioner of the NEC, is a specialist in the theory and practice of election law as an election administration expert who has served in various senior positions at the NEC including the Director of the Election Division, the President of the Korean Civic Education Institute for Democracy (KOCEI), Chief Planning and Coordination Officer, Chief Election Officer and the Standing Commissioner of the Gyeonggi-do Election Commission.
