The National Election Commission (NEC) of the Republic of Korea held a meeting with a delegation from the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Madhya Pradesh, India, on 19 March 2026 at 14:00 at the NEC headquarters. The meeting was attended by Chief Planning & Coordination Officer Misun Ock of the NEC, and officials from both sides. The visit provided an opportunity to strengthen mutual understanding and promote the exchange of knowledge and best practices in the field of election administration. During the meeting, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on key topics of shared interest, including: 1) Voter registration systems and E-roll management 2) Use of technology in electoral administration 3) Training systems for election officials 4) Election logistics and deployment planning 5) Codes of conduct and regulatory mechanisms 6) Voter awareness and participation initiatives 7) IT security and data protection in elections The NEC introduced South Korea’s election management framework, emphasizing its legal and institutional foundation under the Public Official Election Act, as well as its efforts to ensure transparency, fairness, and efficiency in the electoral process. The Indian delegation shared insights into electoral practices in Madhya Pradesh, contributing to a constructive and informative exchange. The NEC expressed its appreciation for the delegation’s visit and reaffirmed its commitment to continued international cooperation and dialogue with election management bodies around the world. |
